Thinking of playing in the upcoming competition – Stoney Creek 3 Ball challenge

Rules

• A team consists of 3 players.
• Each player’s tee shot must be used 6 TIMES.
• Each player tees off.
• One tee shot is then selected from where all 3 players play their second shot within one club length of where the selected tee shot finished.(except on the green where putts are played within six inches or 15cm from the selected tee shot).
• All 3 players then play out the hole with their own ball and continue to play it from where ever it finishes after each shot.
• There is a maximum handicap of 27 for men and 36 for ladies after the slope calculation has been applied.
• Players MUST have played in a minimum 5 Club Competitions at their home club in their last 20 rounds as shown on Golf Link with a current Golf Australia handicap.
• The rest of the game is played as per the rules of golf.

Scoring 

• Each team MUST score the other team’s card when played in groups of six.
• Recording each player’s 6 tee shots as they are used.
• At the end of each hole the players compare their individual stableford score using their current Australian handicap. Players MUST have played in a minimum of 5 club competitions at their home club in their last twenty rounds as shown on Golf Link with a current Australian handicap. Which is a maximum of 27 for men and 36 for ladies after the slope calculation has been applied.
• If the team elect to use the tee shot of the player with the lowest handicap then only the BEST score of the three players is recorded for that hole.
• If the team elect to use the tee shot of the second lowest handicap then the best TWO scores are recorded for that hole.
• If the team elect to use the tee shot of the player with the highest handicap then all 3 scores are recorded for that hole.
• The team that records the most number of stableford points over 18 holes is declared the winner.
• Countbacks – If two or more teams are a tied at the end of 18 holes, a count back will decide the winner. The highest aggregate stableford point score of the team on the holes where the number one player’s six tee shots were used will decide the winner. If it is still tied it goes to the highest aggregate score on the holes where player number 2’s six tee shots were used followed by player number 3. If there is still a tie (except in Regional Finals and Finals), the highest score on hole 18 wins, working backwards until there is a clear winner.
• In Regional Finals and Finals if there is still a tie after applying the countback system for players one and two tee shots than a hole by hole playoff will decide the winner.
